It started pouring rain just as we were leaving, and by the time I reached the corner of 5th and 17th the power went out. Everything was completely dark. There was pretty heavy cloud cover and a lot of lightening which created an eerie atmosphere. I walked around my house with my headlamp on for about 5 minutes before the power came back on. Little mini-adventure in the city!
